Discover four gentlemen of stage, film, Old Time Radio, and classic American television: Ian Wolfe, Carl Laemmle Jr., Alan Napier, and David Manners.

Ian Wolfe, veteran character actor best-known for Wizards and Warriors (1983), experienced a career that spanned seventy-one years and an array of characters with varied dialects.

Carl Laemmle Jr. Universal Studios producer, Carl Laemmle Jr., son of Carl Laemmle, the studio’s founder, is best-known for Dracula (1930) with Bela Lugosi and Frankenstein (1931) and The Bride of Frankenstein (1935) with Boris Karloff.

Alan Napier, British stage and screen character actor, had over twenty-five years of experience on radio, stage, films, and television before becoming a household name as Alfred, the butler, on Batman (1966-1968).

David Manners, Canadian actor of stage and screen, is best-known as Harker in Dracula (1930). After only seven years in Hollywood, he left films to become a novelist.

402 pages. 230 photographs. Afterword by Carla Laemmle.

"The photos are exceptional – candids, portrait (some excellent character shots), scene stills, and family photos. I absolutely loved the one depicting Ian Wolfe and Nancy Kelly from the NBC radio series The Wonderful Wizard of Oz  (1933-34). In many ways this is an important document, especially considering that Atkins’ subjects have all passed away. I cannot recall when Wolfe, Laemmle Jr., Napier, and David Manners have been interviewed in such depth and with such an attention to their personalities and their every-day lives."
